Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Student Achievement

At Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey we want our students to enjoy learning, make great progress and achieve exceptional outcomes. In order to do this we use a range of methods to determine what each individual student does well and develop the areas they need to improve upon.

Our lessons are planned carefully to take into account the strengths and the developmental areas of every student in order to enable them to progress in each subject. In addition to the assessment for learning that take place in class, we report formally to parents and carers throughout the year. Reports contain information about progress and attainment in every subject as well as important learning information such as attendance, home learning, effort and next steps.

Parent/Carer Partnerships

We value our partnerships with parents and carers and we are committed to holding individual meetings with every student and parent. This is a dedicated time when parents meet with class teachers to discuss what is working well and how to improve discussing subject specific priorities and progress. In addition, individual meetings are arranged in all year groups when there is a concern about a student’s learning. This is a great chance to find out what your child has been learning in each of the areas of the curriculum and to see more about where their talents lie.

Parent Feedback

Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey welcomes comments on the service it provides to students and parents. Feedback enables us to clarify any misunderstanding that arise, and gives us the opportunity to review our procedures if necessary.  We are also pleased to learn of things that have gone well.

We believe the support and confidence of parents to be essential to the students' welfare and we are happy to see you on any issue.  If the matter is really urgent a senior member of staff will normally see you as soon as possible.  However, specific staff will not be able to see parents without an appointment. Please email, write or telephone: an appointment can usually be arranged at short notice.

Your child's success and happiness is our number one priority and we know this can only be achieved by working in partnership with parents and carers. Our Home/Academy Agreement is testimony to our core belief that, by working together, students can achieve and exceed their potential.  Our standards and expectations are high and we know yours are too, that is why you have chosen this Academy for your child.  Our staff are professionals and are always willing to help; we ask that  you treat them with the same courtesy and respect that you expect to receive from them.

If, after discussions and meetings with staff, you feel we have not addressed an issue to your satisfaction, the Academy Complaints Policy explains the procedure to follow.
