Accessibility to All
Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey, aspires to be sensitive to the needs of every child, reducing barriers to learning and making the curriculum accessible to every student. Reasonable adjustments to physical and other arrangements of the school are considered where necessary, taking into account the nature of any impairment, student and parent views and advice from teachers and other professionals.
Prospective parents are asked to inform the Academy of any disabilities or additional needs their children may have when registering. Continuing communication between parents and staff is vital to ensure that reasonable adjustments can be considered where necessary, whether impairments were apparent when the student entered the Academy or developed at a later stage.
Therefore, it is the overall aim of the Academy to do all that is reasonably possible to ensure that the Academy’s facilities, services, culture, policies and procedures are made accessible to students, staff members and visitors who have disabilities, and to comply with our moral and legal responsibilities under the Equality Act (2010).
