Anti Bullying

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassador team works closely with the Diana Awards Anti-Bullying Programme to raise awareness of what bullying is and what can be done to support and prevent.  We have grown from a small team of around 12 to our current team of 40 fully trained Ambassadors in Years 9 & 10 and 40 Supporters in Years 7 & 8 who will eventually train to be Ambassadors.

Our aim is to build more understanding of what bullying is and to make reporting bullying easier so that all incidents can be dealt with quickly and effectively.

To support the Ambassadors and ensure a whole school approach, our staff have signed a pledge:

  • I AGREE TO BE IDENTIFIED AS A CARING PERSON WHO PLEDGES TO SUPPORT BULLIED STUDENTS
  • I PROMISE TO LISTEN TO ALL STUDENTS WHO SEEK OUR HELP AND TO ACT ON THEIR BEHALF TO PUT AN IMMEDIATE STOP TO BULLYING
  • BY WORKING WITH OTHER CARING ADULTS AND STUDENTS WE WILL CREATE A SAFE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL

Several of our Ambassadors have completed additional training in Restorative Approaches or Peer Mentoring.  This not only helps them with their anti-bullying work but also adds a qualification that improves employability.

Ambassadors held Parent and Carer Workshops to share information and hear parents' views.  If you are interested in attending a workshop please contact us on the email or text number below.
