New Families Welcome Information

A uniform helps to give unity and identification to an academy; it can make less obvious the different financial circumstances of parents and is a protection for both parents and students from the temptations of temporary extremes of fashion. Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey require all students to wear uniform without exception.

Year 7 students will wear the main academy uniform as according to current uniform policy. Full details regarding uniform can be found on our Uniform page.

We are excited to offer a new kit for year 7 students which is available to purchase online only from Macron, a leading online sportswear stockist. We advise that parents make their PE kit purchase as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for items to be delivered before the start of term. Our new year 7 PE kit can be viewed and ordered directly from the Macron website.

We are excited to announce that as of September 2021, year 7 students will be taught in the state-of-the-art, specially designed Inspire building on the Sheerness campus. It consists of over twenty classrooms, with specialist teaching spaces for children to access subjects such as art, food technology and science. The building includes a large, covered assembly area and access to extensive playing fields. Students also have access to their own canteen and sports facilities on the Sheerness site.

Our expectations of all learners is to be fully and effectively prepared for all lessons and so we ask for all young people to have a well-equipped pencil case to ensure learning opportunities and learning time are not lost.

On your first day you will  be given your timetable, but you will need to bring:

As part of your daily routine, you should organise everything you are going to need for your school day.

This includes:

1. Correct school uniform
2. Additional kit such as for P.E
3. Your timetable
4. Any correspondence with parents and carers such as letters to be returned, absence notes, uniform notes etc
5. A packed lunch or sufficient ParentPay credit to purchase from the canteen, unless you are Free School Meals (FSM)
6. Homework
7. Equipment for Learning - you are expected to bring in the basic equipment everyday which includes a school bag, pen, pencil and ruler
