We had a great time at our Christmas Dementia Cafe this month!
The students at the academy have been busy this Christmas - you may have seen our news item last week about visiting local care homes with gifts!
Our Dementia Cafe team - run by students - have also been busy holding a special Christmas cafe at the Minster campus of the school on the 11th. Over 120 guests attended the event, catered for by the academy and Mrs. Murray. The event was one of joy and community as our young people sang carols with The Salvation Army, and joined supporters of the cafe in celebrating the festivities.
“We have done this for the last ten years, and do not charge for any of the work we do, although some people do choose to make donations which we are proud to receive. We thank the councils again for their support and look forward to our upcoming events in the new year” commented Mr. Paul Murray - Community Leader.
Thank you to all our young people who have been involved in the giving back this Christmas - we look forward to doing more together in the new year.
